At “Runs with Scissors” Art Classes every student will have a great time and leave each class with the satisfaction of taking home a new skill and a completed art project.

This is the most important class, as it becomes the basis for all future classes. You will build on all skills learned in this class. All students will learn techniques and elements of design, shape, texture, and SPIRIT.
Objective: Students will complete 3 Art Cards
*All creative art card materials will be provided for each student to complete 3 cards.
*Optional: If you care to personalize your cards, you will need 3 (total) COLOR COPIES (even if photos are black & white) of your original photos (one of each photo). We highly recommend using KINKOS color copier, and size image to fit in 5” x 5” space. You may also bring any personal embellishments or trinkets you may wish to add.
These cards are fabulous when made with old family photos.
We will also provide a template to create a USPS mailing envelope for the cards.

2” x 3” Beveled Glass Charms with Collage view.
2x3 SOLDERED, BEVELED GLASS ORNAMENT
Learn how to solder and make your own Beveled Glass Ornaments.
For this class you will need to create and bring two completed 2x3 photo collages, one for each side of ornament. Due to time constraints we request you come to class with your collages ready to be soldered. There will not be enough time to repeat collage principles We will add an additional jump ring to the bottom side of ornament that will dangle
The focus of this class will be on Soldering and the techniques demonstrated will be:
Glass Cutting, straight edge and circle
Glass Grinding,
Copper Wrapping
Soldering, straight edge, dot embellishments & more
Adding jump rings for hangers, beads, charms
We will also provide solder, copper foil, flux, 2x3 clear, beveled glass, 2x3 clear flat glass, jump rings, flux remover/ cleaner and polish and ribbon.
If you have a soldering iron, please bring it with you. We will have a limited supply of irons to be shared. Having your own enables you to benefit the entire class. If you decide to purchase an iron, and are unsure of the brand, model etc. we are happy to make suggestions.
This class is your soldering starting point This art form lends itself to a million new projects. You are only limited by your imagination. We look forward to sharing this "red hot" technique!!
More information for those registered:
All collage embellishments must be thin. They must fit between the two glass pieces. You can bring a bead or charm that personally enhances your collage, if you so desire. We will have a supply beads.
For those that took collage 101, you can take your altered art card to Kinkos and reduce it to a 2x3 FULL COLOR copy. You may want to use just a section of your cards. We will have a small supply of background papers and photos for those that come empty handed.

ADORNED WOODEN HOUSES
We are so excited about this class! These adorable house plaques make GREAT Christmas gifts, and you won’t believe all of the wonderful skills you will learn.
Everyone will be creating the same 2 x 6 x 14 inch house as pictured above. This class will be a “kit” class. Everything you will need to recreate the house, with it’s embellishments, will be included in the kit. Your kit fee is included in the class fee of $60.00.
This project includes an array of techniques that will help you create many different art forms in the future.

You will learn:
Flattening of metal stamping on a silverplate spoon.
Aging of wood
Creating, molding, and antiquing of bird form
Faux Rust on various surfaces
Creating picket fence with brads and measuring tape
Inkjet printing on vintage paper.
As always, this class will be informative as well as FUN!!! For those new to art class: RELAX…, we will help you through this beautiful project .limited to 12 participants.

Class 5. Dec. 11th Soldered Christmas Ornament 6-9pm $55.00
This will be a Kit Class, including all embellishments to create the blue charm below. Beveled glass 8 1/2 x 2". Glitter paper, antique Photo copy, scalloped edge, silver chain and snowflake charm.
